THE WINERY
We are a family-owned winery located in Quilós (Cacabelos) in the Bierzo region. As winemakers
and vineyard growers, we currently manage 600 plots across 100 hectares of our own vineyards.
Under the Bierzo Denomination of Origin, our primary goal is to produce high-quality wines using
traditional methods. Previous generations were already engaged in viticulture and winemaking as a
way of life in the Bierzo region. Today, we continue the Gancedo project, drawing on the expertise
of the winery’s owners, who are engineers and soil (terroir) specialists. We decided to venture into
the world of wine driven by our deep passion for viticulture and its expression, as well as to revive
our family’s original activity.

El proyecto de viñedos propios y bodegas que engloba Gancedo lo encarna el empresario José Cereijo, un enamorado de su tierra y de sus raíces: el Bierzo, que pretende recuperar la actividad original de su familia.
Sólo así se entiende que esté recuperando desde hace una década viñas y parcelas, algunas de ellas casi centenarias, y cumpliendo su sueño de hacer vinos singulares en los diferentes viñedos, marcados por la ausencia de riego, jalonados por una singular orografía y con una escasa producción por cepa.
Todo un “vigneron” actual, aunque venga, al igual que la familia López -con la que comparte esta iniciativa-, del mundo de la ingeniería y del estudio de suelos. El éxito empieza en el viñedo. En la bodega se hace el resto…
